About Me

My name is James Kongshaug, and this will be my fourteenth year teaching and eleventh year with New Prague Area Schools. Prior to coming to NPAS, I taught for three years at another district in southern Minnesota. I also have experience teaching abroad in Latvia and Poland at different English language camps for students aged 8-18 where I directed the program and taught English immersion classes.

A little bit about me: I am originally from western Wisconsin (proud Packer fan!). For my undergraduate degree, I attended Winona State University. In December of 2017, I graduated with my master's degree through St. Scholastica. While not at school I enjoy many hobbies and interests when I have some free time. Watching sports (baseball - Twins, football - Packers & Gophers, and soccer - Newcastle United & many others), golfing, traveling, and learning about history are just a few.

My wife and I have two daughters. Our oldest just turned four, and our youngest is almost two. They keep us very busy with activities, trips to the zoo, and lots of playing. We also have a Beagle/Jack Russell (Jack-A-Bee) mix named Lola who keeps us  active with long walks and playing fetch with her many toys. 

I am very excited to be part of a great 3rd Grade team at Eagle View. I look forward to working with all of the 3rd grade students this year.
