MRS.STREEFLAND - Creative Commons

Hello!  A special welcome to all Eagle View Elementary student and families for the 2025-2026 school year!

as the Media Specialist in the Creative Commons! That means I’ll still get to see your bright faces, help you find amazing books, and explore cool things with technology and creativity. So this isn’t goodbye—it’s just “see you soon!”

Have a fun and relaxing summer. Keep reading, keep dreaming, and always remember—you are loved and you are capable of doing amazing things.

I'm excited to announce that I will be our new media specialist in the Creative Commons!  I'm eager to work with all our K-5 students helping them find amazing books, and explore cool things with technology and creativity.  This will be my 18th year teaching at NPAS and I am thrilled to continue my journey at Eagle View Elementary.

As we begin our year together, I'm excited to meet and reconnect with my former students!  Let me tell you a little about me and my family.  I received my BA in Elementary Education K-6 from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth with a double major in Library Media Science and obtained my masters in Curriculum and Instruction from St. Catherine University.  Since I have a passion for teaching reading, I received an additional licensure in Reading K-12 from Hamline University.   I enjoy learning more about and keeping current with education and in recent years have received additional training within Orton Gillingham methodology, the science of reading, and implementing these structures and multi-sensory instruction into my classroom.  This explicit, direct, sequential, and systematic approach to literacy enriches the literacy of all students, but especially students with dyslexia.

In addition to my teaching passion, I love to spend my free time outdoors with my family.  My husband and I live in the country outside of Elko New Market, which has given us the opportunity to enjoy nature and get a little taste of hobby farming building a coop and chasing after our fourteen hens! Our two boys, also attend NPAS with our oldest Max, beginning 11th grade and our youngest, Weston beginning 9th grade.  We enjoy spending time on the boat fishing and waterskiing as well as cheering them on within their passions of fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling.  We value New Prague Area Schools!
